Meet Microeledone galapagensis— a tiny blue octopus the size of a golf ball, officially named as a new species on May 25, 2026 from a single female specimen collected 1,801 m beneath the Galápagos Islands during a 2015 ROV dive. Only one specimen has ever been found.
