The Problem
You sent the “we should grab coffee” text on May 4th. No reply. You sent it casually on June 1st. No reply. You sent it on July 12th with a meme, like a peace offering. No reply. Today is September. Your thumb is moving on its own. Your brain is observing from a balcony. The system is hammering a downstream service that is, by every indication, offline.
The Solution
A state machine between your fingers and Messages. Three failures in a 90-day window and the breaker opens. Sending is disabled in the UI. After 30 days, the breaker enters half-openand ships one (1) probe. Reply → closed. Silence → another 30 days. Eventually, mercifully, never.

Your contacts, classified. The breaker is brutal but consistent. Hover (in your head) for the read receipts you were never sent.
